Sharmila Suntherasegarun

Sharmila is a Assistant Manager under the Economics and Business Unit at IDEAS. Her primary research interests centre around international trade, industrial policy, and regional integration. Prior to joining IDEAS, she worked in the public sector, specifically in areas related to investment promotion and facilitation. Her research motivation stems from a strong desire to contribute to and actively engage in discourse on economic policy prescriptions that are designed to foster growth and prioritise the establishment of more inclusive economies.

Sharmila holds a degree with a double major in Economics and Econometrics and Business Statistics from Monash University and a Master’s in Economics from the University of Malaya.
